Dale Chihuly

The Crystal Bridges Museum Store is pleased to feature the work of artist Dale Chihuly and Chihuly Workshop.

Chihuly has had a tremendous impact on the studio glass movement since the 1960s. His unique approach to glassblowing creates vibrant and energetic sculptures. Much of this energy is derived from the natural movement of the glass. Rather than using a plethora of tools to confine the shifting molten glass, he allows gravity to influence the material and determine its shape.

Chihuly’s exploration of color and form has evolved from small sculptures to large-scale installations, to vast environmental exhibitions wherein he creates habitats made entirely of glass.

Studio Editions

Every year, Chihuly creates four Studio Editions. Each of these signed edition works is inspired by a specific series conceptualized by him throughout his career. Come in to view these remarkable artworks for yourself!

Architect Marlon Blackwell

Architect Marlon Blackwell designed the museum store at Crystal Bridges to be an organic complement to the museum’s natural setting and distinctive architecture. Under a living green roof, the interior ceiling and walls are lined with undulating Cherrywood ribs that mimic the fluting on the underside of a mushroom. Blackwell practices architecture in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and serves as distinguished professor at the Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design at the University of Arkansas.

Blackwell’s design received an American Institute of Architects Honor Award for Interior Design in 2015.
